Anti-microbial agent EMP Silver-ET is a silver-based antimicrobial agent that uses a special delivery system to transport and secure the silver to an textile surface. The anti-microbial agent controls the release of the silver to avoid discoloration and early silver exhaustion typical of silver systems. When incorporated into industrial and household materials during the manufacturing process, anti-microbial agent EMP Silver-ET prevents the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew, to offer antimicrobial protection, durability, freshness and a feeling of well-being.
Application
From mattresses and linens, to sports apparel and footwear, to fabrics used in hygienic environments, EMP Silver-ET is an ideal solution.
For use in textile: non-food contact uses in industrial and household woven and non-woven fibers such as bedding, apparel, footwear, wall and floor coverings, carpets, draperies, wiping cloths, brushes, filters, insulation, tents, awnings and tarps. Use EMP Silver-ET in the treatment bath to provide 3% to 5% on the fiber.
Use EMP Silver-ET in a well ventilated area, free of sparks and open flames. Standard city water may be used, provided it is free of high concentrations of metal contaminates.
Adjust the pH of the bath solution appropriate for the finish chemicals to be employed - acetic acid for additives requiring a pH 4-5, such as curing resins or dyes, or ammonia to a pH 9-11 for baths without finishing additives. Avoid a pH range of pH 6-8.5 for optimum system stability.
Increasing the durability of EMP Silver-ET to washing and abrasion:
If a higher level of durability of EMP Silver-ET to wash and/or abrasion is required, add the Wash Durable Additive-EMP FIX-ET at a rate of 50% wet weight on the wet weight of the EMP Silver-ET. Mix the
EMP FIX-ET before adding and mix the combined bath solution if it is not used within 8 hours.
