Zinc Phosphate Properties:
Colorless rhombic crystal or white microcrystalline powder. Apparent density 0.8 ~ lg/cm3. Soluble in inorganic acid, a-mmonia water, ammonium salt solution; Insoluble in ethanol; Water is almost insoluble and its solubility decreases with increasing temperature. When heated to 100ºC, two crystal waters are lost and anhydrous substances are formed. It is deliquescent and corrosive.
Application:
It is used as the base material for various kinds of coatings such as alkyd, phenolic and epoxy resins, and is also used in the production of non-toxic anti-rust pigments and water-soluble coatings.
It is also used as a flame retardant for chlorinated rubber and synthetic polymer materials.
